Workiva spreadsheets and the sheets (sections) within them must comply with the following naming restrictions:
Allowed characters
The following characters are permitted in a Workiva spreadsheet and its sections:
- any Unicode letter
- digits 0 through 9
- apostrophe:
' - question mark:
? - space
- ampersand:
& - underscore:
_ - comma:
, - hyphen:
-
Characters supported only when paired with an allowed character
. # ( ) + = ! @ $ % ^ ; : / \ * [ ] , emoji, and non-letter Unicode characters can be used in names, but any name must contain at least one of the supported characters listed above.
Note: Many characters supported by the Workiva Platform may cause problems when linking or exporting spreadsheets or sections to other platforms. We recommend that you test any of these before moving them into a production environment.
