A page in a document can break unexpectedly, causing content to move to the next page or leaving a large blank space.
This usually happens because of manual formatting, section settings, or differences between page properties in adjacent sections.
Remove a manual paragraph break
If there is a paragraph mark at the end of the content on the first page, the paragraph was likely ended manually using the Enter key.
- Place the cursor between the paragraph mark and the content before it.
- Press the Delete key.
If the page break was caused by a manual paragraph return, the content from the next page moves back onto the previous page.
Remove a page break
Page breaks are intentionally inserted to move content to the next page while keeping the content in the same section.
- Hover over the page break line between the pages.
- Click the X icon.
The content moves back to the previous page after the page break is removed.
Remove a section page break

To remove a section page break, use one of the following methods:
Remove the section break directly
- Hover over the section page break line.
- Click the X icon.
Disable the section setting

- Locate the Insert page break before section option.
- Clear the checkbox.

- Compare the page margin settings.
- Update the margins so both sections match.

Page size breaks occur when adjacent sections use different page sizes.
- Open Section Properties for both sections.
