How to perform a Technical Check
When you start preparing for ESEF conversion, you may want to ensure that your mapping is still correct even before you have your latest figures or a draft of your report (PDF/EPUB).
We call this process the Technical Check (or pre-validation), and it only requires the few steps below:
Setting Your Excel File Up for the Technical Check
Start by updating the General Data Sheet to reflect the relevant reporting period. Go to the “General data ESEF” sheet and update the cells “Start date of reporting period 1” and “End date of reporting period 1”;
2. Next, update your financial statements. Copy and paste the figures from the "period 1 column" on top of the "period 2 column";3. If you already have numbers for the latest reporting period, enter them in the Period 1 column. Remember to adjust roundings in the SUM cells when necessary. If you do not have numbers for the latest reporting period yet, you can change every figure to 0 (zero). In that case, make sure you remove all roundings from the SUM cells so that all sums are also 0 (zero).
4.Your Excel file is now ready. Save it, and upload it to the ParsePort Platform. Open the ParsePort Platform, drag and drop your Excel file (or use the Browse files option), and press the Convert and Validate button.
5. Check the Validation Summary for errors. If there are none, your mapping is correct. If there are errors, please contact our Professional Services team. If the conversion doesn't return any errors, your mapping is 100% correct.
Note: Keep in mind that any new or modified lines need to be checked and mapped by our Professional Services team. If you do a Technical Check beforehand, you will probably get errors.
