To help create a new Sustainability Program, you can use Import to set up its outline and metrics.
Note: To also add metric values or task assignments into a new Program, contact your Workiva Customer Success Manager (CSM) or implementation partner to use a Structured Metric File (SMF).
Step 1. Create the Program
To start, create the Program in your Sustainability Reporting workspace:
- From Sustainability Program, select Program overview in the outline, then select Create program from the menu.
- Rename the new Program as necessary.
Step 2. Import Program details
From the new Sustainability Program, select Import from the menu of Program overview to add the Program's details — in bulk — through Spreadsheet templates.
To add the Program's details, create and import the templates in this order:
- To set up the initial outline and any customizations of the Program, create and import the Topics, Program tags, and Dimensions templates.
- To add metrics to the Program's topics, create and import the Metrics template.
- To apply additional context to the Program's metrics, create and import the Metric content and tags and Metric dimension templates.

Step 3. Add metric values and tasks
To add collected values or data collection tasks to the Program's metrics, contact your Workiva Customer Success Manager (CSM) or implementation partner to help import them through an SMF Spreadsheet.
