Settings and permissions
I converted my preview into a new document, but I do not have the XBRL Manager role.
XBRL will be included in your new document, but you may not have the ability to see or change the XBRL.
I have multiple languages in the original document, but XBRL labels were only set up in one of those languages.
You will need to set up XBRL labels for additional languages in the new document.
My XBRL profile contains multiple documents.
You will need to add the documents to a single new profile after converting. If multiple documents were tagged in your source profile, you may need to undergo an extensive manual review to confirm translation accuracy. If a source profile is deactivated after converting to a live document, that profile and any XBRL in it will not be converted.
My document is included in multiple XBRL profiles.
Any active XBRL profiles will be included when exporting your document. Archived profiles will not be included.
I translated a document and the XBRL regions are now larger or smaller than before.
Because some languages may not perfectly match the word count, spacing, or formatting of your source language, you may need to adjust the position of the <x> tag in your Translation Management Service (TMS).
XBRL or content changes
I copied a section from my preview and pasted it into a live document. The pasted content is missing XBRL. Why?
Only numeric links with XBRL and using the same XBRL profile will maintain their XBRL when copying from a preview and pasting into a live document.
I updated XBRL after translating and converting to a new live document, and my new document does not have the updated XBRL. Will my changes be included?
Because translation captures a snapshot of your live document at the time you convert it, any updates that happen after converting will not be included unless the change occurred in linked data.
I updated the XBRL tagging in my document before the preview was converted to a new document, without changing content. Will my changes be included?
Because XBRL does not maintain a separate revision system, your translation's XBRL will match the state of XBRL in the live document at the time of translation.
I updated/deleted content or XBRL facts in my original document, then sent the relevant section(s) back out for translation and re-imported in order to update my preview. Will my changes be included?
Because XBRL does not maintain a separate revision system, your translation's XBRL will match the state of XBRL in the live document at the time of translation.
I updated/deleted content or XBRL facts in my original document, and the translation was exported but not yet imported again. Will my changes be included?
XBRL will match the original language document at the time it was translated, but you may receive a warning that the document cannot be updated to the latest revision. This warning will not prevent import, but you should send your document for translation again as a best practice. The
Prepare for Translation screen may state that translation is required even if no content changes have been made.
I added an XBRL fact after importing a translation to the preview. Will my changes be included?
Facts on text and tables, including text block tags and unlinked table cells, are not included in a translation if added after the translation was created. These facts will be disconnected after translation. XBRL on numeric links will be maintained when converting to a new live document.
I converted to a new document, but text links are now missing XBRL. Why?
XBRL on links is not maintained for text links or block tags, only numeric links.
I have XBRL tagged in a section where XBRL is disabled at the time of export. Will my changes be included?
The facts and profile will be included, and the section will maintain XBRL as disabled.
