Connector to Oracle Financial Consolidation & Close Cloud Service (FCCS)

With the Oracle® FCCS connector, you can use commands in a chain to interact with Oracle Financial Consolidation & Close® Cloud Service (FCCS). For example, with this connector, you can:

• Convert comma-separated values (CSV) files to Planning file format, and vice versa
• Copy, export, and import snapshots in Oracle FCCS
• Upload, download, and delete files in Oracle FCCS
• Import and export FCCS mappings and metadata
• Run daily management batches, reports, and rules

Note: This connector is built by Workiva and connects to a third-party system. While our Support team can help configure this connector within your workspace, we are unable to troubleshoot or otherwise assist with any issues that originate outside of the Workiva platform.

Prerequisites

To secure the connection to Oracle FCCS, the connector uses basic username and password authentication. Only native Oracle accounts are supported.

To set up the connector, you'll need:

• A designated integration user set up in Oracle FCCS for the connector
• The integration user's authentication credentials
  • The integration user's email address should be used as the user name
• The application to connect to in Oracle FCCS
• The service name, identity domain, and data center region of the FCCS environment to connect to, or the full URL of the Oracle Cloud® instance if it differs from the normal URL structure

Note: If the environment's URL adheres to the normal structure, it contains the service name, identity domain, and data center region, such as https://serviceName-identityDomain.fccs.dataCenterRegion.oraclecloud.com/fccscloud.

Set up the Oracle FCCS connector

Note: To make the connector available for use in your organization's chains, an org security administrator first enables it from Configuration.

1. From Chain Builder, click Connections  compare_arrows, and then Create at the top right.
2. Under BizApp Connection, select Oracle FCCS and the default CloudRunner.
   
3. Under Basic Info, enter a unique name and description to help identify the connection.
4. Under Properties, enter the connector's details:
   
   

   Property	Details
   Service name	Enter the service name of the Oracle FCCS environment to connect to. In the URL, the service name is typically the auto-generated string that immediately follows https://. Note: To distinguish test and production environments, Oracle appends -test for service names in test environments.
   Domain name	Enter the name of the Oracle FCCS environment's identity domain. In the URL, the identity domain is the auto-generated string that follows the dash - after the service name.
   Data center	Enter the data center region that hosts the Oracle FCCS environment. In the URL, the data center region appears immediately before oraclecloud.com, such as us1.
   User name	Enter the username of the connector's Oracle FCCS integration user.
   Password	Enter the password for the User Name property.
   Application name	Enter the name of the application in Oracle FCCS to connect to.
   Base URL (override)	If your Oracle FCCS URL deviates from the normal structure, enter the full URL of the instance to connect to.

   Note: All sensitive credentials are automatically encrypted and stored at Advanced Encryption Standard (AES)-256 encryption.

5. Select the environments to use with the connection, and click Save.
6. To test the connection, create and run a chain with the connector's List Files command, and verify it returns a valid output.

Troubleshooting

If the connection to Oracle FCCS fails:

• Verify the authentication credentials of the connector's integration user. The user name should match their email address.
• Check the service name, identity domain, and data center region from the Oracle FCCS URL. If your URL deviates from the normal structure, enter the full URL as the connector's Base URL (override) property.
• Check the name of the Oracle FCCS application to connect to.
• Make the sure the CloudRunner IP address is allowed in Oracle Cloud.
