Connector to Oracle Profitability & Cost Management Cloud Service (PCMCS)

With the Oracle® PCMCS connector, you can use commands in a chain to interact with Oracle Profitability & Cost Management® Cloud Service (PCMCS). For example, with this connector, you can:

• Convert comma-separated values (CSV) files to Planning file format, and vice versa
• Copy, export, and import snapshots in Oracle PCMCS
• Upload, download, and delete files in Oracle PCMCS
• Import and export PCMCS mappings and metadata
• Run daily management batches, reports, and rules

Note: This connector is built by Workiva and connects to a third-party system. While our Support team can help configure this connector within your workspace, we are unable to troubleshoot or otherwise assist with any issues that originate outside of the Workiva platform.

Prerequisites

To enable the connection, the connector uses the Oracle PCMCS REST API, secured with basic username and password authentication. To set up the connector, you'll need:

• A designated integration user set up in Oracle PCMCS for the connector
• The integration user's authentication credentials
• The application to connect to in Oracle PCMCS
• The service name, identity domain, and data center region of the PCMCS environment to connect to

Note: The environment's URL contains the service name, identity domain, and data center region, such as https://serviceName-identityDomain.pcmcs.dataCenterRegion.oraclecloud.com/pcmcscloud.

Set up the Oracle PCMCS connector

Note: To make the connector available for use in your organization's chains, an org security administrator first enables it from Configuration.

1. From Chain Builder, click Connections  compare_arrows, and then Create at the top right.
2. Under BizApp Connection, select Oracle PCMCS and the default CloudRunner.
   
3. Under Basic Info, enter a unique name and description to help identify the connection.
4. Under Properties, enter the connector's details:
   
   

   Property	Details
   Service name	Enter the service name of the Oracle PCMCS environment to connect to. In the URL, the service name is typically the auto-generated string that immediately follows https://. Note: To distinguish test and production environments, Oracle appends -test for service names in test environments.
   Domain name	Enter the name of the Oracle PCMCS environment's identity domain. In the URL, the identity domain is the auto-generated string that follows the dash - after the service name.
   Data center	Enter the data center region that hosts the Oracle PCMCS environment. In the URL, the data center region appears immediately before oraclecloud.com, such as us1.
   User name	Enter the username of the connector's Oracle PCMCS integration user.
   Password	Enter the password for the User Name property.
   Application name	Enter the name of the application in Oracle PCMCS to connect to.

   Note: All sensitive credentials are automatically encrypted and stored at Advanced Encryption Standard (AES)-256 encryption.

5. Select the environments to use with the connection, and click Save.
6. To test the connection, create and run a chain with the connector's List Files command, and verify it returns a valid output.

Troubleshooting

If the connection to Oracle PCMCS fails:

• Verify the authentication credentials of the connector's integration user.
• Check the service name, identity domain, and data center region from the Oracle PCMCS URL.
• Check the name of the Oracle PCMCS application to connect to.
