Is GPBO available in Spreadsheets?
Because it aligns its features with common spreadsheet applications, Spreadsheets does not enable Global Precision Based Overrides (GPBO).
As a best practice, Workiva now recommends using adjustment columns, which allows for an increased audit trail via cell history and easy removal of adjustments during roll forward. This article explains how to use adjustment columns in place of GPBO.
Set up adjustment columns
To set up an adjustment column:
- 1
- Insert two columns to the left of your linked data.
- 2
- Copy the content from the source link column into the first column. This is commonly labeled as the “Original Value” column.
- 3
- Input any needed adjustments or rounding into the second column. This is commonly labeled as the “Adjustment Value” column.
- 4
- Update the source link columns to sum the original and adjustment columns. This creates the final adjusted value that links to all your reports.
