For each chain, you can send an email notification to alert collaborators of its results or the outputs of its commands. Notifications include the name and status of the chain or command, and a link to view it in Wdata. When you add a notification, you can customize its text and—for commands with a cloud or software-as-a-service (SaaS) data source—add an attachment to its message.
Add a notification
You can add up to five notifications for a chain or command.
Tip: For a command with a cloud or SaaS data source, you can attach its output to the notification, or include a text output in the body of the message.
- In Chain Builder, from the Chains tab, click Edit for the chain.
- Choose whether to add the notification for the chain or one of its commands.
- For the chain, click Chain Settings.
- For a command, select its node in the chain, and click Edit .
- Click Notifications
- Click New notification, and select Email .
- Choose when to receive a notification, such as if the chain or command results in an Error or Warning.
- In Recipients, select the collaborators' email addresses to receive the notification.
- Update the subject line as necessary
- For a chain or command run by a CloudRunner, choose whether to attach the output to the email.
- Under Message body, enter the message to appear in the email as hypertext markup language (HTML).

to wrap entire text blocks. - To replace selected text in the body of the message with a variable, press
CTRL +/
.

- In the chain, click Publish .
Troubleshooting
If you're not receiving notification emails, please verify:
- You have at least Viewer permissions to the workspace environment where the chain is located.
Stop a notification
- In the chain, choose whether to stop the notification for the chain or command.
- For the chain, click Chain Settings.
- For a command, select its node in the chain, and click Edit .
- Click Notifications .
- Expand the notification, and choose who to stop sending it to.
- To stop for a specific collaborator, in Recipients, remove their email address.
- To stop for all collaborators, click Remove.
- Click Save.
- In the chain, click Publish .
