You can import an entire XBRL outline into your document or create a new one by adding one section at a time.
Import an XBRL outline
Before importing, you must have a ZIP file that contains generated XBRL. The import includes preferred labels and XBRL calculations for that outline.
To import an XBRL outline:
- 1
- Open the document, click the XBRL tab, and make sure Show XBRL is on.
- 2
- Choose an XBRL profile if one is not already applied.
- 3
- Go to the XBRL Outline panel on the left.
- 4
- In the XBRL outline panel, click the drop-down and choose Import XBRL Outline.
- 5
- Browse to and select the generated XBRL ZIP file you want to import.
- 6
- Click Import to finish. A progress report shows details of the import.
- 7
- Click Close to finish.
Create a new XBRL outline
Create a new XBRL outline by adding one section at a time and organizing it to match the structure of your document.
To create a new XBRL outline:
- 1
- Open the document, click the XBRL tab, and make sure Show XBRL is on.
- 2
- Choose an XBRL profile if one is not already applied.
- 3
- Go to the XBRL Outline panel on the left.
- 4
- Use the Add Before and Add After icons to add sections.
- 5
- Find and select the taxonomy section(s) you want to add.
- 6
- Use the XBRL Outline toolbar options or drag and drop outline sections to move them around so they match the document structure.
When viewing the outline, you can enable Mark New Concepts (US GAAP taxonomy only) to add an icon next to concepts in the outline that were newly added to the taxonomy.
