Dynamic table management is a collection of features designed to streamline the reporting process with enhanced automation, filtering, formatting control, and linking.
It includes:
- Enhanced table filters: Choose to hide or show zero-sum table rows with the ability to filter by formula, detect out of date filters in bulk, and bulk reapply filters as needed.
- Value format styles: Build custom value format styles to reduce manual effort required to update at the cell level and enforce consistency throughout the spreadsheet or table. Owners can also lock format styles.
- Range linking: Create a range of links covering multiple cells and update them simultaneously. You can now makee structural changes to source data ranges, such as adding or removing rows and columns, and publish your changes to all destinations with a single click.
- New formulas: A new Subtotal formula, XIRR (calculate irregular cash flows), and XNPV (calculate net present value) are now available in spreadsheets and embedded tables.
Enhanced table filters
Enhanced table filters help organize your data for easier viewing and deeper analysis through sorting and filtering. You can filter by formula, check your document for out-of-date formulas, and even reapply all filters in bulk with a single click.

Benefits
- Update faster: Filter tables by formula instead of manually showing or hiding rows.
- Increase accuracy: Leverage formulas to show or hide what you need every time the data changes.
- Scale easily: Detect out-of-date filters and reapply in bulk.
Value format styles with locked formatting
Value formatting is now part of the style guide editor! This allows report owners to create custom value formats, review applied formatting, initiate bulk updates, set new defaults, and lock down all applied formatting at the table level.

Benefits
- Update faster: Customize value format styles one time, and then apply them anywhere.
- Increase accuracy: Lock value format styles to ensure consistency across files.
- Scale easily: Bulk update value format styles with a single click in the style guide editor.
Range links
Range links build on Workiva's standard linking feature by introducing the ability to manage multiple links simultaneously. As compared to normal linking, range linking makes it easy to introduce structural changes to previously linked data.
You can add or remove entire rows and columns, adjust the cell values and links, and then publish the entire range. Your changes will automatically sync across your workspace — with no reconciliation needed!
