Snowflake® recently announced that single-factor authentication will no longer be supported as of November 2025. This applies to both human and service users — including Workiva users who use basic authentication with the Snowflake JDBC connector.
To align with these changes and ensure continuity of service, we added a key-pair authentication option to the Snowflake JDBC connector in February of 2025. This updated auth method enables a more modern and secure connection to your Snowflake database, and fully complies with Snowflake's updated security standards.
While we will continue to support basic auth until November 2025, we recommend switching to key-pair authentication as soon as possible. Instructions are provided at the links below.
