Organization admin
Improved sign-in failure reasoning in Activity logs
Activity logs now provide more granular insights into user login failures. Here's what's new:
Refined categorization:
We've elevated our approach to categorizing login failures, moving beyond the generic "Sign in failed" label to offer specific failure classifications. This upgrade enables clearer understanding of the reasons behind authentication failures.
New sign-in failure categories:
Now, when you click "See Details" under the "Details" column in the Activities log, you'll find enhanced visibility into the reasons for sign-in failures. Here are the new sign-in failure categories:
- Invalid Sign-In: Indicates failed login attempts due to invalid user credentials.
- User Password is not Set: Flags instances where a new user attempts to sign in without setting up their password.
- Account Locked: Indicates login failures resulting from a locked user account due to multiple invalid login attempts.
- User Account is Suspended: Identifies failed logins due to a suspended user account.
- Any unknown exceptions causing sign-in failures will now be recorded in details.
These enhancements promise to significantly enhance our ability to track and analyze authentication failure patterns, leading to more effective troubleshooting and optimization efforts.
