Print Bleed now available
Documents and Presentations now support the ability to set and export a report using Print Bleed. This ensures reports printed with full-page graphics look consistent after the cropping step in professional printing processes.
"Bleed" in the print industry refers to the practice of extending the design or image beyond the trim edge of a printed page. It's a critical capability to ensure that color or design elements reach the page's edge. This enables printing precision, visual impact, and brand consistency when creating eye-catching report designs.
To set Bleed, open the Document or Presentation Properties. On the Page or Slide Format tab, you can enter a value in the Print Bleed field.
This will allow you to extend or place objects outside the page or slide edge up to the bleed amount; snap guides will give you confidence in correct placement. Background images and color will scale to fit the bleed value.
When exporting a PDF, you can choose the Include Print Bleed advanced option to use the print bleed value in your export. Otherwise, your file should appear as it does in Workiva.
Note: This feature is available to all workspaces with access to Design Reporting. To learn more, reach out to your CSM.
