Using bleed will let you make reports with full-page graphics. You can easily extend graphics to the full edge of the page.
Enable bleed
Only owners have access to enable bleed on a document or presentation.
To enable bleed in a document:
- In the Edit tab, click on Properties and select Document.
- Click on the Page Formats tab.
- In the Preferences section, set a number for Print Bleed.
- Click Save Changes.
To enable bleed in a presentation:
- In the Edit tab, click on Properties and select Presentation.
- Click on the Slide Formats tab.
- In the Preferences section, set a number for Print Bleed.
- Click Save Changes.
In the Print Bleed drop-down, there will be two preset standard measurements that you can choose from. You can also set a custom number if needed.
Note: We’ll display the unit of measurement according to your default measurement unit setting.
To change your default measurement units, open Document Properties and select a new unit under Measurement Units.
Snap objects to bleed
When a file has an amount set for bleed, you can drag an object outside of the page and the bleed snap-guideline will temporarily show up. At this time, your object will also snap to the bleed guideline.
Background images with bleed
Background images will dynamically scale to the bleed amount, even if bleed is turned off. When bleed is turned off, it'll scale to the size of the document or section dimensions.
Export PDF with bleed
You can choose to export your Workiva document or presentation as a PDF with bleed. Your exported document will come with crop marks and a white border.
To export:
- In the File tab, click on Save As .
- Select PDF.
- Open the Advanced section.
- Check Include print bleed.
- Click Export to finish.
