Customize the default certification reminder emails
In the Process properties, you can write three custom reminder messages to be sent out on our reminder cadence (3 days before, on the due date, and each day after the due date).
For more information, see Add certification actions to processes.
Streamline design report reviews with simplified blackline PDFs
Experience a new way to view a PDF export of a document blackline or track changes that allows you to see all of your changes as well as your report's final design.
Simplified blackline PDFs:
- Make the executive review of design reports simple and stress-free.
- Are designed to look as sleek as your designed report.
- Use hyperlink navigation that eases reviewer fatigue.
- Showcase the final version your design report, free and clear of distraction.
With this feature, you can quickly see areas of change and drill in to change details only where necessary. Make it easier for your team to get a "yes" by your decision makers during review by using simplified blackline and track changes PDFs.
For blacklines, export a blackline to PDF and choose Simplified changes with changelog.
For track changes, select File, choose Save As and click PDF. Before exporting choose, Include track changes and click Simplified changes with changelog.
For more information, see Review and collaboration in files with floating objects.
Note: This capability is currently only available in workspaces with the Designed Reporting extension enabled. For more information, reach out your Customer Success Manager.
Automated Table of Contents is now generally available
Automated Table of Contents is now available to all solutions. You can add a table of contents in your Workiva Document, and it will automatically stay up to date when changes are made to the document. Your table will be built with headings that you select and the table can be customized through the style guide.
To add an automated Table of Contents, navigate to the Edit tab, choose More, and select Table of Contents.
For more information, see Set up an automated table of contents.
Documents & Presentations
Charts in documents and presentations updated to the latest version
The service which provides charts in Workiva Documents and Presentations has been updated to the latest version. You shouldn't see any noticeable changes. However, this change enables the future release of new chart capabilities not previously available.
SVG files exported to PDF default to vector graphics
The default export option has been updated for PDF exports of SVG images in documents or presentations, so that they will remain a vector graphic (specifically, PDF Drawing Instructions). This will ensure that SVG images will maintain a higher fidelity on PDF export.
Previously, the default option was SVGs exporting to PDF as PNG images. If desired, you can continue to export SVGs as images using the "Convert SVG to PNG" option in the PDF Export experience.
Note: This option is only available in Workspaces with Designed Reporting capabilities.
Track task statuses from Tasks panel of ESG Program topic or metric
From an ESG Program topic or metric, you can track the data collection of values as a pie chart on the Tasks panel. This pie chart shows — at a glance — a breakdown of tasks at each status, such as Complete, In progress, and Sent for approval.
For more information, see Track data collection of ESG Program metrics.
Include testing matrices and embedded spreadsheets in Procedure copy
This update enables the inclusion of testing matrices and embedded spreadsheets when copying a procedure by itself or within a test phase/group. When pasting a procedure or phase, you will see the option to de-select the inclusion of testing matrices and embedded spreadsheets. The copied testing matrix will not include any testing results or attachments.
