GroundRunners require a constant heartbeat to exchange messages with instructions on how to run jobs. In the event of a network disruption, GroundRunners automatically try to re-establish communication. But if a GroundRunner does go offline, it will no longer respond to commands and your administrators will receive a warning email.
You can view the status of a GroundRunner at any time:
Windows
- In Workiva, select Chains in the left sidebar.
- In Chain Builder (this is a new tab), select Connections in the left sidebar.
- Under Workplace Settings, select Runners in the top menu.
- This displays all the installed runners (Ground and Cloud) broken out by Pending Registration, Active, and Inactive.
Locate the GroundRunner you are interested in.
Any GroundRunner listed in the Active Runners section with a green power icon is active.
Linux/macOS
To view all active GroundRunners on a Linux server, enter this command in a command window: ps -a |grep GroundRunner.
