Email link authentication (also sometimes called low touch authentication) allows users to access certain Workiva Platform features without needing to log in. This helps users more quickly complete their tasks and streamline their experience.
Enabling email link authentication
The email link authentication setting is turned off by default. As long as your organization doesn't require Single Sign-On (SSO) for users in the Organization Admin settings, only those with both the Org Workspace Admin and Org Security Admin roles can enable the email link authentication setting by going to the Security tab in Workspace Settings and checking Allow users to authenticate and access certain features via email link.
If your organization requires Single Sign-On (SSO), you won't be able to use the email link authentication setting, and all users will need to log in via SSO.
Once enabled, users will receive the relevant email notifications with custom links that will authenticate them and direct them to the Workiva platform feature without requiring them to log in. These links are valid for 14 days, after which new links will need to be sent if needed.
