Workiva’s Solution for tagging your Pay vs Performance disclosures in Proxy Statement is designed to be familiar to anyone using Workiva with other SEC Taxonomies, while also providing an additional level of automation to make your job easier. These disclosures will be tagged using the ECD Taxonomy. For this taxonomy you do not need to manage the XBRL Outline to generate valid XBRL Files; you simply need to tag the facts in your document and the Workiva Platform will take care of the rest.
The ECD taxonomy will include a view-only XBRL outline as it does not require modification or user maintenance. This simplifies working with this taxonomy while allowing you to view concept details, drag and drop concepts onto your facts for tagging, and quickly review tagging in your document by highlighting tagged data when the corresponding concepts are selected in the outline. The process for creating extension concepts has also been restricted to only allow the expected types of extension concepts to be created, reducing the likelihood of making mistakes.
