Even though header and footer properties are intended to inherit from a previous section's properties, they may not match completely. This may occur when a page contains multiple sections and one section has different header and footer properties configured.
Review header or footer properties
- Review the header or footer properties of the last section where the properties are reflecting correctly. Click into the section and navigate to the Edit tab and select Properties > Header or Properties > Footer
- Review the selected settings in the Header Properties or Footer Properties right-hand panel. Verify the section name at the top of the panel.
- Click into the next document section, and ensure the settings match or adjust as needed. Keep on reviewing the following sections, in order, until the header or footer reflects properly across all pages.
Note: To review issues related to margin size or position, you'll need to click into the header or footers. This may require you to temporarily introduce section breaks around sections that don't have these settings configured correctly. Doing so will allow you to access the header or footer and adjust as needed. When finished, make sure to remove the section breaks.
