Decommission vs delete control

We are doing an annual clean up of controls in our SOX workspace and have controls that are no longer needed. Is there any guidance/documentation on the best practice for removing these controls and the impact they have on history? I know there is an option to delete and and option to decommission, but i was not able to find anything in the support center about using either of these options.

    Hi Candice,

    Thanks for your question! The best practice is to decommission these controls so that there is still a historical record, and they remain associated with all of the previously tested forms. Decommissioned controls are also filtered out of reports. After your roll forward, your CSM can help delete the test forms for the decommissioned controls so that you do not have unnecessary test forms. Hope this helps!
