Tasks linked to 'Send for Reviews"
We are trying to leverage the review function so our reviewers can view important documents and make comments where needed.
The issue we are running into is when the review/comment period is complete the reviewer has no easy way to notify the document owner and there isn't a way to assign a completion/due by date. If one reviewer needs to review numerous documents there isn't a simple way to sort which reviews are outstanding and each document can be lost and confused with other outstanding documents.
It seems like Tasks would be a great solution for this. But, we can only create a task in parallel to the review which confuses the reviewer because tasks and reviews are not connected and when the task reminder goes out extra time is spent from the reviewer to locate the review.
It would be great if when the review is created and sent out there could be a check box in the dialogue box that would immediately create and link a new task for all reviewers.
So the reviewer and document owner could easily:
- Find current tasks and their corresponding reviews easily on their dashboard
- The document owner could send reminders to the reviewer that link directly to outstanding review.
- Once the review is completed the reviewer could mark the task (and review) complete in one step which would notify the document owner.
- The document owner could run reports on outstanding tasks (and their corresponding documents)
- If a section of the review was missed or needed clarification after the review was finished, the task could easily be re-opened.

100% agree to the above. My organization is new in 2021 to Workiva and is going through the first audited reporting cycle. We have found the Review/Approval process to be very disconnected. Agree - would love to see a solution to this. In nearly every other way Workiva has met our needs at an exceptional level. Looking forward to future improvements in this realm.
