File a powerpoint presentation
BeantwoordHello, I need to file a powerpoint presentation in an 8-K. What is the best way to do that in Next Gen?

Hi Christie!
Great question. 😊 Happy to tackle this one.
The best way would be to first save your PowerPoint to PDF. You'd want to also specify these settings:In addition, your CSM or our Support Engineers also have tools to convert a PPTX into that correct format needed. Then, as far as next steps, you'd want to take that PDF you have saved down and upload into your next gen filing package. And finally, you'll need to EDGARize that PDF for filing purposes, i.e. convert it to an HTM with images of the slides. Here's a pretty comprehensive Help article on the EDGARize PDF part. As the article points out, you may include the PDF as a courtesy copy in the filing too but its not needed.Hopefully that helps guide you a bit. Let me know what questions you have on any of the above, or if you need any further assistance. Thanks as always and keep staying awesome. Happy filing!0Hi Mike, for the settings in Adobe/PDF - How do I access those settings? I cannot seem to get them and I have Adobe Pro.
0Hi Christie!
Oof, sorry for the epic delay here. I was out last week and I checked our spam filter and your comment here was caught in it. That's a rare occurrence but either way, sorry about that.
To answer your question, the setting window above is actually from PowerPoint itself, when you go to to File > Export > Create PDF/XPS Document. That would be for Windows, specifically. I actually can't replicate it, as I drive a Mac, but here's a link to the Microsoft documentation. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/save-powerpoint-presentations-as-pdf-files-9b5c786b-9c6e-4fe6-81f6-9372f77c47c8#OfficeVersion=Windows
Hopefully that helps clarify some. Let me know what questions you have in the meantime. Cheers!0Hi Mike,
Is there a simple way to take a Wdesk Presentation file and include it in an 8-K filing package as an exhibit? The presentation documents do not appear to populate as options to include in a filing package in next gen. If I download the Wdesk presentation to a .pdf and then upload to it to the filing package this seems to work, but seems a bit counterintuitive considering the whole idea of keeping all the documents in Wdesk. Any thoughts or guidance on this would be appreciated.
1Hi Peter!
Your feedback here is quite timely. A few weeks ago I cross-posted this request as we had seen a slight influx in this request internally, and I wanted to make sure it got more attention externally.
Today there's not a direct way, sadly. In Classic you could at least save a PDF to Project, so you could skip the middle man of downloading it, but as of yet you cannot pick a Filing or Folder to put a saved PDF into directly. That being said, we do continue to receive interest in it, and right now the Idea Lab is in full effect, so I'll be sure to include this suggestion there as well.
As always, I'd definitely encourage others to add comments or vote up the existing request for this to see if we can get a little nudge here in Q3. Thanks as always and have a super day!
1This just in! The ability to EDGARize a Workiva Presentation has been added to the future roadmap. No timeline for when it will be made available, but at least this is a step in the right direction. We'll continue to take in new feedback and requests here and will keep you updated on progress. In the meantime, let us know what questions you have.
Many thanks for your patience and have a super day!
