Is there an update on this issue or a workaround???

I find I'm constantly having to select then reselect the paste settings/formatting each and every time I copy and paste within Spreadsheets, Documents or from one to the other - same issues mentioned in the original post above... which was a year ago. How is there not a resolution for this by now?

Agree. I haven't brought it up before, but it's always been like this for me in Next Gen. I don't know if it switches every time I go to a new document table or what. Haven't been able to find a pattern for anything specific causing it.

    Hi Elishbah,

Thanks for reaching out. I circled back on this one and it still remains on the radar to be addressed, though as of yet it remains open. I  have added you to our list of requesters and will keep you updated on progress. Let me know what questions you have for me in the meantime, or if you need anything else.

Thanks again for contributing and welcome to the community!

I would like to echo Tara's sentiment. the extra time it takes to constantly revert to the paste setting I want adds up

    Hi Tara and Matt,

Thank you both for adding you sentiments here. I will make sure this gets to the attention of our product team.

Sadly there's not been much change here since we last revisited it. The earliest I might anticipate some movement on this could be Q2 2022. We'll for sure keep you updated but do let me know what questions you have in the meantime.

I don't know if this issue is related, but when I paste data the default is to paste formatting, which I do not want, but when I uncheck the formatting box, the paste formatting still remains. So before pasting any data if I haven't saved defaults very recently, I have to paste something as a sample, just to set the defaults again, in order to preserve the formatting in my workbook. It's very frustrating and I've had to reformat the destination workbook several times because of this issue.

Is there an update on this or can someone give us an idea of when we can expect a resolution??? This has clearly been an ongoing and, not to mention, very frustrating issue to deal with as often as I am in Wdesk.

Thanks for bringing this back up, Tara.

Apologies for the delay here. I've brought this back up to our engineers and they are going to take a closer look at the issue to see if they can better identify a fix to address it. They did add too to help clarify, currently in Workiva your paste options work across Spreadsheets and tables if using the same tabs within one browser tab, but those settings are tied to the lifespan of that browser tab. If you are using two different browser tabs, those paste settings are not shared cross those tabs, and on refresh of any tab, they will get set to the default setting.

We'll be in touch as we receive a more info on a timeline for this fix. Thanks again for your candor, and have a great rest of your day!

I have noticed this quirky thing too.  When I copied and pasted, it first overwrote the formatting, then even if I uncheck "apply formatting" the previous formatting would not come back.  However, I noticed that using Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V instead of the right-click copy and paste helped sometimes to not lose the formatting.
