What is the status on freezing the document after filing in the new gen? This is absolutely critical for us.

    Not sure what Workiva's status is, but I have found that changing permissions for all users for the project/document to "View' is helpful - then no one has permission to make any changes.

Audra is correct in that changing permissions is a great current workaround that exists However, my team and I are actively doing discovery to decide how we should implement this in Next Gen and are working to provide a better solution.     As an owner of the document, I have been unable to change my permission to view only which still leaves the risk that I could accidentally make a change to the "filed" document.  Is there a way around that?

    Hi Marci!

    I was about to close this post for comments and saw yours got stranded out here. I'm happy to help answer your question, however.

    Currently there's not any way to prevent an Owner from altering their permission below Owner until they choose a new Owner to the file. A Workspace Owner can also add/adjust permissions as needed too, even if they don't have access outright. It's possible you could set a group as owner and only have limited folks in that group, but you'd likely want at least one person to manage those permissions if you needed to.

    Does changing the permission to view only prevent people with XBRL access to not make changes since the XBRL permission feature is currently not working?
