Is there a way to reorder the legend?

I've created a stack column combo chart in presentation. I am thrilled with everything except that the legend is in the opposite order as the chart. Is there a way to reorder the legend without changing the order of the items displayed on the chart? This is my graph:

I'd also be interested to know if there are options to resize the legend area. As you can see, it leaves a lot of white space in my presentation.

    Hi Jessica!

    The only way to reorder the legend would be to change the order that the data is input into your chart, but that would also change the visible output of your chart. Similarly, you are currently unable to change the size of the legend within your chart.

    One way you get around this is to actually omit the built-in legend from your chart and then build a custom one using a table. For example, you can insert a free-floating table next to your chart and then place the names of your series in one column and then fill the cells in an adjacent column with the matching color. The end result would look something like this:



    I've also used some space columns and rows to give the appropriate amount of padding too. I'm also able to reduce white space by placing it as close to the chart as I want. In addition, you could link the series names from your chart data to make sure those stay updated as well.

    Lastly, I wanted to add that our Next Generation documents and presentations have improved chart functionality, which would include enhancements to editing the legend such as reversing the order of the legend.     Hi Mike,

    I noticed in the Next Gen charts, there is an option to reverse the legend, but we are wanting a little more control as far as the order goes. Are there any plans to allow users to reorder the legend independent from the data set? Basically we like how our charts look, but we want to move one item on the legend from the first item to the last item, while keeping everything in the middle the same. I get that we can use the workaround described above, but it just looks a lot cleaner when you can utilize the legend in your tool.
