Recent releases to the Workiva Platform included improvements to the following products and features:
Cadenas
Command-level errors will no longer stop an entire chain
We've fixed an issue that would cause an entire chain to stop running when a command triggered a server-side error. Moving forward, this type of error will only stop the command itself and allow normal chain operations to continue.
Execute report script
We've added a new command to the Oracle Analytics Cloud connector:
- Execute report script: This command returns outputs generated by executing a report script specification file.
Note: This command requires Essbase version 21c (version 21.1) or higher.

FERC Print Preview now available
A new print option is now available for FERC documents. This option will ensure that pages which would otherwise be cut off when printed will now be split across multiple pages. From the generation you want to print, highlight the iXBRL Viewer and click the Print button to the right.
ESG
Import from CDP dashboard widget deprecated
With the closure of the submission window for CDP 2023 questionnaires, Workiva's ESG Reporting solution no longer includes the Import CDP Questionnaire dashboard widget in Home. Stay tuned for how to use Workiva for 2024 submissions, when CDP will offer a single integrated questionnaire to determine its scores.

ESRS content now Current in ESG Explorer
With Workiva's ESG Reporting solution, you can include the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) in ESG Explorer, such as to help comply with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). In ESG Explorer, ESRS content now appears as Current, given its publication in the EU's Official Journal. Previously, ESG Explorer included the ESRS content as Pending to enable data collection in preparation of its official publication.

Collect biannual values for ESG Program metrics
To enable two collection periods — H1 and H2 — for an ESG Program metric, you can now select a collection frequency of Biannually from the Configure Metric panel.

SASB 2023-12 revisions now Pending in ESG Explorer
With Workiva's ESG solution, you can include Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) content in ESG Explorer. To help prepare data collection for Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting, ESG Explorer now includes SASB's 2023-12 revisions as Pending.
These revisions — which go into effect January 2025, with early adoption encouraged — feature updates to non-climate content, including:
- Internationalization of every industry except Infrastructure - Real Estate (IR-RE), which was updated with other climate-related metrics in the 2023-06 revisions
- The introduction of metric EM-SV-3202.3, Extractives & Mineral Processing - Oil & Gas - Services | Number of road accidents and incidents
- The replacement of metrics within the Health Care - Managed Care (HC-MC) and Medical Equipment & Supplies (HC-MS); Infrastructure - Electric Utilities & Power Generators (IF-EU), Services - Education (SV-ED), and Transportation - Air Freight & Logistics (TR-AF) industries
- The removal of metrics from the Consumer Goods - Household & Personal Products (CG-HP) and Toys & Sporting Goods (CG-TS); Health Care - Biotechnology & Pharmaceuticals (HP-BP), Drug Retailers (HC-DR), Health Care Delivery (HC-DY), and Managed Care (HC-MC); Infrastructure - Electric Utilities & Power Generators (IF-EU), Gas Utilities & Power Generators (IF-GU), Waste Management (IF-WM), and Water Utilities & Services (IF-WU); Services - Education (SV-ED); and Transportation - Air Freight & Logistics (TR-AF) and Road Transportation (TR-RO) industries

Updated color palette for Tasks panel in ESG Program
With Workiva's ESG Reporting solution, the Program Status widget in Home and Task Status chart on the Tasks panel of ESG Program metrics and topics both now feature an updated color palette for improved clarity, contrast, and accessibility.

Streamlined units of measurement for ESG Program metrics
To ease data collection with Workiva's ESG Reporting solution, ESG Program metrics that collect Number, Currency, or Percent values now offer only commonly used units of measurement by default. You can also enter a custom unit of measurement for a metric as necessary.

Rename and rearrange testing matrices in audits
You can now rearrange evidence testing matrices within a procedure form. Select the 3-dot menu next to a matrix name and choose Move up or Move down. Rearrangements will be reflected in the Attachments panel and will be saved for all users.
Improved data record creation permission handling
This update allows the user to more easily grant creation permission in the report permission editor for multiple data types.
Ability to notify when an attachment is ready in Markup Viewer
When opening an attachment in the Markup Viewer, a "Notify me when my file is ready" option is now available. When the user selects this option, both email and Slack notifications will automatically be sent to the user when the attachment is ready to view. The notifications include a link for the user to go directly to the attachment in the Markup Viewer.
Organization Management
Org Admins can now archive workspaces
Org Admins can now archive workspaces that are no longer needed by going to Workspaces in Organization Admin and selecting Archive in the dropdown next to the workspace.

Classic Account Admin shutdown
All Classic Account Admin features have now been shut down, and the ability to navigate to Classic Account Admin from the current Workiva Platform navigation menu has been removed. All classic features that Workiva supports can be accessed through our current platform.

Fixed the Summary column in Activity Logs
An issue was discovered where the Summary column in some Activity Logs may have displayed abbreviated data. We have fixed this issue to prevent future occurrences.
If you find incorrect information in entries that were logged before January 19, 2024, you can find the expected information by clicking See Details in the Details column or by going to the Details field in your exported activity logs.
Scripting
Role updates for scripting users
To better differentiate scripting roles and allow more granular control over script access, we've made two changes in this release:
- The Script Viewer and Script Editor roles no longer have the ability to run scripts
- The Script Runner role has been added to all existing users with the Script Viewer or Script Editor role
What does this change mean for me?
This will not impact you, your level of access, or any other existing users. Because we've added the Script Runner role to all existing profiles, your work can continue uninterrupted.
But moving forward, you must assign the Script Runner role to any new users who will execute scripts.

Sign in to Workiva directly from Workiva Tasks
To see all of your tasks and have full functionality in Workiva Tasks, you need to be signed in to Workiva. You can now sign in to Workiva directly from Workiva Tasks by going to the sign in button in the toolbar.

Create a destination folder when moving files to another workspace
When moving files to another workspace, you can now choose to create a destination folder in the destination workspace. If you choose not to create a destination folder, your files will go directly to the main directory in Files in the destination workspace.
