Setting up a process
AnsweredI want to set up a workflow 'process' for the stat accounts. The numbers are prepared in a spreadsheet linked to a document. There is a first review in spreadsheets and a second review in the document.
Presumably I cannot set up a task where the production and first review points to a section in a spreadsheet and the second review points to the linked section in a document. To get around this I can set up the process to point to the document only, but it seems that if the spreadsheet data changes it can still update the document when the permissions have been changed to view only in the review phase. Can you please advise on this? If changes are still possible in the document via the underlying data, how can the reviewer be confident the no changes will be made during the review process or after approval?
I could also set up a process for the spreadsheet and a separate process for the document, but this would not be a workflow as the processes could presumably not communicate with each other. As you see I'm confused, please steer me in the right direction. thanks

Hi Claire,
Based on what you are describing, we'd recommend setting up a sequential process to order the actions so the first content request points to the Spreadsheet, once that is done and approved the second content request (or Task if they don't need to add edit permissions) would point to the Document.
This would make sure that the Spreadsheet step happens and is approved before the request to review/approve/edit the Document would even be sent. You can reference this article for those steps: https://support.workiva.com/hc/en-us/articles/360050581612-Build-a-process.
Hopefully this helps some. Do let me know if I've missed the mark or you have any additional questions. Thanks again and keep staying awesome!
