Removing Old Comments in Documents

Hello,

Since we are in the final lag of reporting, when I copied from the previous year audit documents, I left the comments in the documents. The help desk provided a resolution of creating new copies without the comments. The process will be too large to handle by myself. Will there or is there a global removal of comments within documents without creating copies?

I could really use some advice.

    Fantastic news! This feature was recently made available in the Workiva Platform. You can access it from the Comment panel in a Document and can delete all comments or resolved comments.

    Hi Christine!

    Thanks for your question. It sounds like you got some help from our Support Line and we've got your feedback on this logged with our ongoing requests. There's a similar one here, and bulk removing comments from a file is something we're looking into, though I don't have much of an update for you.

    I'll add as well that you can also copy an entire Folder in Home, which could contain many files (Docs, Pres, Spreadsheets, etc.) and from here too you can choose to "Include comments" or not.

    I second this request.  Has there been any progress made since the original post in regards to a mass comment deletion/removal option?

    Thanks for chiming in, Ronald. I've logged your request on the backend. Sadly, the update is not good regarding the option to bulk delete comments. As noted here, this enhancement is still not planned, though we do continue to take in new requests. We'll be sure to keep you apprised of any changes but do let me know if you need anything from me.     I'd like to chime in as this would be an added enhancement. We continually work on the Annual Report especially prepping a 'shell' in starting in July/Aug for a Dec year-end. It is linked to the same data elements we use for quarterly purposes, so when we rollforward quarter to quarter, we either have to select include all comments from every document in the folder or exclude all. This one-size fits all approach isn't very user friendly and I would definitely appreciate an ability to be more precise, when needed.
