Copy slide layout from one presentation to another
AnsweredOur slides in powerpoint have a faded background that you can see through text boxes etc. One classic presentation that has been transitioned has maintained this backdrop and has primary layouts accordingly. However none of the other transitioned or imported presentations have the correct primaries or the backdrop. Is there a way that I can copy the primaries from one presentation to the other or somehow get the backdrops in the new presentation? I do not have a way of remaking it in the new document. Help!

Hi Barbara!
That's an interesting scenario; one that I'm sure our engineers would be interested in testing. But to get the underlying issue, the good news is yes, you can totally copy your primary slides from one Presentation and paste into another. Here's how.
- Open the good Presentation you like
- Navigate to View > Layouts
- Select one or multiple slides in your primary layout outline, right-click and choose "Copy"
- Open the not-so-good Presentation
- Navigate to View > Layouts
- Perform a paste (CTRL+V or ⌘ + V) and viola!
- Lastly, move the layout around as needed and delete out any unwanted ones
Hopefully this helps. Let me know if you have any questions on the above or need anything else. Thanks as always and have a great rest of your day. Cheers!
