Document File Dates and how they affect test filings
AnsweredHello,
Can you please review how the document dates tagged in XBRL affect the test file process. For instance, in an 8-K, the cover page is dated and tagged in XBRL. If the date is a future date, we get an error message. Any workaround?
thank you,

Hi Pat,
This change was introduced by the SEC in 2019 and as such Wdesk now reflects it. If you need to see an accepted test filing prior to your live filing date you would need to change the date in your document/iXBRL to reflect the current date. If you are testing filing the day before your filing, you can also submit the test filing after 5:30pm EST and the SEC would accept this as they no longer consider it a future date. We recommend that a test filing always be performed and review the day of your live filing as the SEC may have changed something overnight that could invalidate the result of the previous days test filing.
Let me know if you have any questions or need anything else. Thanks again.
