Reconnecting disconnected comments
AnsweredDoes anyone know how you can reconnect a disconnected comment to a document? There is an option to "Move Comment" in the comment list dropdown but it's grayed out.

Hi Branka!
Thanks for the question. I took a quick look and chatted with our comment experts, and they mentioned that you may need to make a new selection on some text or cells in the document first to ‘move’ that comment. We are also tracking a possible issue right now that should be addressed by Monday, which may be impacting this functionality as well. Let me know if the above doesn't work (i.e. making a new selection and then moving the comment) and I'll keep you updated about our progress here. Thanks again and chat soon. Cheers!
0Thanks Mike! We talked to our CSM and he mentioned to select text to move the comment to and we still had an issue where the reconnected comments continued to show the disconnected icon. Perhaps that issues was related to the issues you're tracking currently.
As Workiva continues to improve NextGen capabilities I am curious if users will get the Classic capability to see disconnected comments in the sections that they originally pertained to. I understand comments disconnect if underlying text is deleted but in Classic the disconnected comment used to at least stay in same section so a user could identify where it was originally posted. It would be helpful in NextGen if the user could navigate to the section from which a disconnected comment was disconnected.
0Hi Branka!
Wanted to quickly follow-up here. I can confirm that the issue seen with disconnected comments has been resolved, so certainly let us know if this issue persists.
Thanks for your additional insights into comment behavior in next gen. I'll confirm with the team how they do/should behave and share your thoughts with the team as well and let you know what I hear. In the meantime, give me a holler if you have any questions or need anything else. Thanks again and happy Wednesday!
