    Hi all,

Great news! In case you missed it, a recent release to Wdesk has now made it available to attach supporting files to next gen Documents (and Presentations). Thanks much for your patience and feedback. Give us a holler if you have any questions on this feature, or need anything else. Happy attaching in the meantime. Cheers!

    Hi Mike,

I any updates on when the following feature will be available this year? Any recommendations on work around in the interim?

    Hello

Any update on being able to print the attachments in the document? We use this for our supporting binder tie out and we need to find a way to accommodate this for our Q3 10-Q. This is URGENT now.

    Hi Michelle!

Thanks for the question. At this time, you can only attach documents in next gen Spreadsheets. However, the ability to attach in next gen Documents is planned to be available later this year, so definitely keep your eyes peeled to our What's New topic for any updates there.

I've moved this question into our Feedback & Requests topic and have passed along your feedback with our Product Team. I've also extracted your request into a ticket for easy tracking and updates. Let me know what questions you have for me or if you need anything else in the meantime. Thanks again and stay awesome!

    Hi Michael Muller,

I do have some update here regarding attachments in next gen Documents. Due to competing priorities, this feature release was pushed back ever so slightly from the end of 2019 to Q1 2020. More than likely it will be released within the coming month, but I'll be sure to let you know when it for sure gets released. I should add as well that the ability to bring over attachments during a transition to next gen is also being worked on and is planned for Q2 2020. I've also attached your requested (no pun intended) to our Product Team to follow along with as well.

Hopefully this helps answer some of  your questions. Do let me know though if you need anything else. Thanks so much for your input and have a great day!

    Hi Mike,

Do you know when we will be able to open all attachments in Documents? Currently it looks like you can only open PDFs and need to download all other types of files.

    Thanks!

I just checked on the status of the attachment viewer for next gen, and currently that is planned for release later this quarter. I've got your request attached to our internal ticket for tracking, which you can view here: https://support.workiva.com/hc/en-us/requests.

In the meantime, let me know what questions you have for me and if you need anything else. Thanks much and keep staying awesome!

    Hi Keta!

Thanks for reaching out. The ability to download and print the attachments is planned for Q4 availability, and I've definitely shared your feedback with our Product Team. I've also connected your request here with our ongoing work. I'll share there some additional info too on how to see some demos and get on a limited release beta of attachments with markup in next gen.

In the meantime, let me know what questions you have for me or if you need anything else. We'll be in touch soon. Cheers!

We use attachments for our tie outs and review. In next gen I don't see the ability to sign off on or add tickmarks to attachments. When is this coming?

We miss this functionality greatly since the switch from first gen. We are having to use Nitro which is very messy in comparison to how we use to do the tie outs in wdesk. Hope this comes soon.

    Hi Veronica!

We anticipate having markup on attachments (tickmarks, etc.) by mid Q4, and approval (sign off) by the end of Q4. I've shared with you here a more in-depth overview of the anticipated roll-out, but certainly let me know what questions you have. Thanks so much for your input and rest assured that our Product Team is working hard to get these features released for you ASAP.

    👋 Michelle!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts here. Similar the timeline shared above with Veronica, we are aiming for a mid to late Q4 roll-out of attachment downloads with markup. I've connected your request for this feature to our Product Team, which you can follow along on here, and you can keep apprised of releases info on What's New too. Let me know in the meantime if you have any questions for me, or need anything else. Cheers!
